Is customer service etiquette too much to ask?

Customer service is not something that is suggested for a business to survive, it is actually an expectation. Over the past few weeks I have noticed a steady decline in customer service in the community.
The same bad service I received two months ago has gotten so bad that I have started to spend my money elsewhere. As consumers, we feel like we have no choice but to spend money in the community and patronize businesses only on the grounds of keeping them open. To this, I say let the doors close.
I work hard for my money. In fact, I have several jobs just to make ends meet and I would venture to guess most of our readers do likewise. My money is little and I have to make it go as far as I can. And when I take my hard-earned cash to a restaurant or other business, I do not expect to be treated like a king or anything crazy, in fact I do not even expect a smile from the employees anymore – that is way too much to ask for.
