Inside Voice

Speak in a tone and at a volume that can be heard by the people you are speaking to, but not loud enough to be overheard. As in the tone of voice used to address one person or a small group. As in the tone of voice used when saying your social security number, bank account balance or describing your symptoms to your doctor. Your conversation is only interesting to you and maybe your friends. You are a nuisance to everyone else. Let them wonder what you’re talking about, instead of wishing you would speak softly, shut up or do us all a favor and leave.
